[That's the easier answer. Clarke doesn't believe that they were brought here for any specific reasoning. More and more, it seems unlikely that anyone had a plan for them. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been let out of the "cage" after day one. But they didn't try to put any of the Displaced back into the box.
And the Displaced definitely didn't hide themselves.]
I'm fine. I slept a lot when I got back. Believe it or not, home doesn't always give me a chance to do that. ["Home." Her world is broader and wider than she ever expected. "Home" is too narrow of a term.]
Science wise, let's just say that it's a long story that even a bottle of wine couldn't remedy. Better to cut my losses. I'm going to continue my medical training, but the rest can ... wait. I think that's for the best for now.
Six years. And then a very long nap. I wouldn't worry about the nap part. (No, it wasn't a coma.)
[She won't tell most people about that complication, not unless they ask. But someone close to Fitz? They might be able to guess why a nap might come in without being too puzzled or worried.]
[Of course, Clarke is the type to make it so that she has earned her wine with her antics. This time? It's only marginally her fault. Sort of. Some of it. Look, Clarke Does Things.]
[ bobbi isn't exactly the type not to make it so she deserves the wine with any antics. she's not good at sitting still, at not being where the action is.
she's been hiding that part of herself here for the most part, but it's getting harder and harder to do. ]
of course we are
[ clarke said she'd bring the wine, so bobbi makes sure that there's some food in the house before she leaves for work. hours later, she's back - probably just in time before clarke gets there. ]
[Clarke's new to wine drinking, or drinking anything that isn't moonshine, so she ends up having to do some research and ask for help. If only she hadn't alienated Gaby—the Morningstar person, not the spy from another world (so to speak)—because she could've asked for help. Alas. Clarke has to deal with the bed she always makes for herself.
She ends up showing up a solid ten minutes after Bobbi gets home. Both of the bottles in her totes are reds, and on the cheaper side. She did just quit her job. It's going to be a while before she's back up on her feet again. She buzzes in from outside, waiting for the permissions given to her implant to let her in.]
[ it doesn't take long at all for clarke to get the permission, for bobbi to let her in. there's a variety of noodle dishes in take-out containers on the sidetable by the couch, filling the air with steam and mouth-watering smells. ]
Hey, you.
[ bobbi smiles, lifting an arm and pulling clarke into a half-hug before gesturing toward the couch. ]
[Clarke leans into the hug—not for any reason other than the fact that she's glad she's back with these friends. She told Prompto how disorienting it was to know that she hadn't remembered her people here. It's been an adjustment, especially given the aspect of it where she's felt somewhat powerless.]
You got us dinner. ... That's probably a good idea. Did you know they don't have noodles in the post-apocalyptic landscape? [A joke. A bit dry, but she manages it. Clarke is doing ... better. In a number of ways.]
[ bobbi wishes she knew with certainty that people who disappear here go back to their own worlds, that the absence of those here from their own worlds has no impact on timelines, that they'll go back eventually to the same point in time instead of being missing for ages.
she wishes she knew, but she doesn't.
what she knows is that they're here, that they need to make the best of it, that she's glad clarke is all right, hugging back. ]
No noodles? Sounds uncivilised.
[ if clarke can joke, bobbi will take up that tone and do the same. ]
@clarke.griffin
In comes one, out goes the other, huh?

i'm glad you're back

[Clarke has work to get done here. For better or worse.]
I think I can probably take back my job, but I'm not planning on it. I'm going to stay away from any hard sciences for a while.
no subject
[ that actually refers to both clarke being glad she's back and the avoidance of the hard sciences ]
and are you all right?
1/2

if you want, we can open a bottle of wine without the need for a story
[ it sounds like there's one hell of a story there. it also sounds like pushing isn't the right thing to do. ]

Besides, I'm sure you could use it.

guess we're in the same boat as far as that's concerned

[They needed Fitz. Clarke knows that now. Will always know that. But there's no changing that the loss has happened.]
Is your schedule the same, or are you putting in some extra hours?
[Which could be for any reason: Displaced-related science projects or the fact that they incurred losses and are shorthanded.]
no subject
[ they needed fitz - but bobbi's missing her friend first and foremost. ]
roughly the same [ she was putting in some extra hours before, so not much has changed in that regard ]

Tomorrow. After work. I'll bring the wine.

[ if it was a very long nap, that's bobbi's guess. ]
looking forward to it

[What if they had cryo in space on the Ark? But then, it might've been an energy suck. Bad news for different reasons.]
I was out for over a hundred years.
no subject
[ but cryo exists in practice. it's just not well known and katelin philips might not know about it, being the civilian that she is. ]
a century? shit
that must have been an adjustment

I'd say it's closer to being here.
We woke up in the orbit of a new world.

gently action it here?
