strove: (EVEN IF I HAVE TO EAT A DINOSAUR)

Isn't that the way of it? I think many of the losses are just blunted because of where I came from.

[They needed Fitz. Clarke knows that now. Will always know that. But there's no changing that the loss has happened.]

Is your schedule the same, or are you putting in some extra hours?

[Which could be for any reason: Displaced-related science projects or the fact that they incurred losses and are shorthanded.]
strove: (but he made luke cage famous!)

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-03 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Six years. And then a very long nap. I wouldn't worry about the nap part. (No, it wasn't a coma.)

[She won't tell most people about that complication, not unless they ask. But someone close to Fitz? They might be able to guess why a nap might come in without being too puzzled or worried.]

Tomorrow. After work. I'll bring the wine.
strove: (huff huff huff let's bring it in)

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-11 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
You really do have everything in your world. Yeah, that was it. Then again, I guess so does my world.

[What if they had cryo in space on the Ark? But then, it might've been an energy suck. Bad news for different reasons.]

I was out for over a hundred years.
strove: (or maybe he's tired)

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-15 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Not as much as you'd think.

I'd say it's closer to being here.

We woke up in the orbit of a new world.
strove: ("all rise" is a very witty catchphrase)

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-16 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but it's a different kind than the one I think you had in mind. Just time passing, rather than location.

Though I guess the spirit of it could really mean the same thing.
strove: (no - only jeff goldblum needs one)

log or action this?

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-18 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
I agree.

[Of course, Clarke is the type to make it so that she has earned her wine with her antics. This time? It's only marginally her fault. Sort of. Some of it. Look, Clarke Does Things.]

So, we're on?
strove: (that is a terrible joke ok?)

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-21 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[Clarke's new to wine drinking, or drinking anything that isn't moonshine, so she ends up having to do some research and ask for help. If only she hadn't alienated Gaby—the Morningstar person, not the spy from another world (so to speak)—because she could've asked for help. Alas. Clarke has to deal with the bed she always makes for herself.

She ends up showing up a solid ten minutes after Bobbi gets home. Both of the bottles in her totes are reds, and on the cheaper side. She did just quit her job. It's going to be a while before she's back up on her feet again. She buzzes in from outside, waiting for the permissions given to her implant to let her in.]
strove: (Starbucks is YOUR SECOND HOME)

[personal profile] strove 2019-08-26 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Clarke leans into the hug—not for any reason other than the fact that she's glad she's back with these friends. She told Prompto how disorienting it was to know that she hadn't remembered her people here. It's been an adjustment, especially given the aspect of it where she's felt somewhat powerless.]

You got us dinner. ... That's probably a good idea. Did you know they don't have noodles in the post-apocalyptic landscape? [A joke. A bit dry, but she manages it. Clarke is doing ... better. In a number of ways.]
strove: (actually - dinos returning would be cool)

[personal profile] strove 2019-09-02 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Not dinner, no. I was going to suggest we order something. You cut ahead of the line there. [That's one of the conveniences to being here: having food readily available. That's also one of the conveniences of Sanctum, but her people weren't welcome. Clarke was only welcome because Russell and Simone had set their sights on her, hoping to turn her into their daughter. Which, of course, they succeeded.]

I spent most of today trying to figure out how to make money. I agreed to a nicer apartment with my roommate, but ... well, I'll explain the rest once we break open the wine. [She grabs the bottle. In the future, the stopper isn't made out of wood, and therefore is easily removed by hand. It's not a twist top, instead offering the same treatment as a cork without including wood in an unwanted place.

With the wine open, she sets it down, letting it air out. That's what someone's meant to do, right? That's what she's learned, anyway.]
strove: (i have so very many flaws)

[personal profile] strove 2019-09-23 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Not yet. I'm debating seeing if I can start with some hands on training for medical work. That's a part of the schooling, but anything that could get me working and helping—especially since I assume the city still needs as much help as it can get.

[Clarke doesn't know for certain, but having someone else who can take measurements and get things set up would be a boon. But then, she's used to limited medical personnel.]

I might see if PRESERVE has a program with that. I've been taking classes to finish my medical training, but it'll still be a while.
strove: (I am going to mourn a computer chip)

[personal profile] strove 2019-09-26 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. And if you need any help—honestly, it's too bad that we can't just cook up a lab for ourselves and work out of that. Training could go slower and I wouldn't be stressed about it.

[They could really use a proper lab right about now.]
strove: (I can't be a contestant on Nailed It)

[personal profile] strove 2019-09-30 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Clarke thinks about Gabriel's labs in the woods. While he undoubtedly stole away with a lot of technology to get there, he still was able to accomplish it.

Why can't they do something like that?]

... Do you think we can? It would involve having to work slowly, chipping away to get supplies, and the big stuff, well—we'd always be without. But—maybe we can find a way around that, too?
