[ in some way, it's removing the choice — if they'd ordered, clarke would have gotten to choose her own meal. now, she'll have to eat whatever bobbi got her. bobbi would like to think that she's got decent taste in food and some idea of what clarke likes, but still.
while clarke deals with opening the bottle, bobbi wanders into the kitchen to get some glasses for them. ]
Not yet. I'm debating seeing if I can start with some hands on training for medical work. That's a part of the schooling, but anything that could get me working and helpingâespecially since I assume the city still needs as much help as it can get.
[Clarke doesn't know for certain, but having someone else who can take measurements and get things set up would be a boon. But then, she's used to limited medical personnel.]
I might see if PRESERVE has a program with that. I've been taking classes to finish my medical training, but it'll still be a while.
Of course. And if you need any helpâhonestly, it's too bad that we can't just cook up a lab for ourselves and work out of that. Training could go slower and I wouldn't be stressed about it.
[They could really use a proper lab right about now.]
if bobbi didn't feel the need to keep pretending at being a biologist first and foremost, instead of it being her third or maybe fourth priority.
but she chose this path and this cover for a reason and she can't deny that it's put her in a position where she can do good, even if it's not in her preferred way. ]
[Clarke thinks about Gabriel's labs in the woods. While he undoubtedly stole away with a lot of technology to get there, he still was able to accomplish it.
Why can't they do something like that?]
... Do you think we can? It would involve having to work slowly, chipping away to get supplies, and the big stuff, wellâwe'd always be without. Butâmaybe we can find a way around that, too?
[Clarke moves a hand through her hair, frustrated.]
This is probably the type of thing that Damian was trying to sell us on working toward together. Poorly, of course, because he did it while pitching a political stance.
I understand. I get that. But anything that's come our way has, by and large, been instigated by us. I don't know. I have a hard time seeing fear being the core of why we do anything.

[ in general. in their situation. for people who have a lot to lose. it's katelin, not bobbi, who runs a hand through her hair, lips twisting. ]
